Who We Are
SuSTEMable is a not-for-profit organization focusing on a better environmentally stable world. We are a growing group of high school and middle school students on the North Shore of Massachusetts built off of compassion for the less fortunate and acknowledgment for environmental struggles in today’s world. We focus on projects local to our volunteers, specifically projects that are environmentally focused or projects that involve environmentally conscience volunteerism.
In the past, we have focused on food waste management in the greater Boston area. According to the USDA, 30-40 percent of the food supply goes to waste due to various factors including spoilage, overproduction, and overconsumption. Our goal is to reduce this excessive waste through education and action. You can learn more about food waste in the US here.

Our Mission Statement
We believe that no matter the socio-economic, geographic, demographic, or cultural background, every human is entitled to healthy and sustainable environmental conditions. SuSTEMable is committed to ensuring the sustainability of the environment throughout the Northshore of Massachusetts and beyond through youth volunteer work and education. Volunteer opportunities, especially environmentally ones, can be hard to come by for students. We pledge to bridge the gap and ease the access between volunteerism and youth populations. In addition, SuSTEMable strongly believes in the cause to help the underprivileged that do not have access to a clean and sustainable environment with clean water, fresh food, or electricity, and we are devoted to making sure they can. Ultimately, the organization's goal is to make the world a greener and better place, starting from our local communities and building our way up from there.
Hi there! Nice to meet you!I'm Ansh - an 11th grade student at St. John's Prep in Danvers, Massachusetts and a co-founder of SuSTEMable. I have a strong love for mathematics, programming, and technology. I've grown up in a world in which food and plastic waste, as well as greenhouse gas emissions, are taking a toll on the environment, and I believe that the future of this earth depends on sustainable and clean energy, the mitigation of food waste by donation and composting, and the use of environmental friendly materials. Also having witnessed poverty in the streets of India, I strongly believe in the cause for helping the underprivileged through education, affordable housing, and improved access to clean water, food, or electricity. I hope to use my talents to contribute to this cause for a greener and cleaner earth that cares for those not as fortunate, for the many generations to come.

Thank you for visiting our website!I'm Andrew - a 12th grade student at St. John's Prep in Danvers, Massachusetts and a co-founder of SuSTEMable. I have strong passions in technology, programming, and public speaking. Having witnessed the direct effects of poor environmental conditions early on in my life, I have held the desire to spread awareness of the human impact on our home while also supporting those unfortunate enough to have been damaged by human activity. With around 1 in 7 Americans having trouble getting consistent access to food, combating hunger in cities and across the nation has become a priority of mine. In the future, I hope to see that our efforts both improved the world and the lives of others.

Be the difference you want to see!I'm Charles - a 11th grade student at St. John's Prep in Danvers, Massachusetts. During the summer I have a student commercial lobstering license, so I spend a lot of time out on the water. I feel a strong connection to the ocean and one of my main goals to to advocate for environmental sustainability, since I have witnessed overfishing and the destruction of marine ecosystems during my own lifetime. In addition to lobstering, I am also an avid skier and hiker. I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced so much of this extraordinary world that we live in and my hope is that future generations will have the same opportunities that I have had. We need to remind ourselves that we are stewards, rather than owners, of this planet.
